RISO birthday card “BIRTHDAY KING” – Playful card in 3 RISO colors

A king on his birthday! This colorful card is inspired by the king from a deck of cards: complete with crown, sword, and striking sunglasses. The front is printed in three RISO colors: green, blue, and yellow. The back features black printing.

RISO printing gives the card its vibrant colors and characteristic, artisanal look. Each color is printed separately. This can result in small shifts and imperfections: not flaws, but rather what makes every RISO print unique. The combination of the classic playing card illustration and the fresh colors makes this an original birthday card for someone who deserves to feel like a king for the day.

Why RISO?
Studio Inktvis fell in love with RISO because of the intensely rich colors and the handmade appearance. The printing process is similar to screen printing: each color is applied separately. RISO uses soy-based ink and masters made of Japanese wax-coated paper. Because it is a cold printing process, the machine consumes relatively little energy.

Small color differences and imperfections are part of this special printing technique and make every card unique.
